Coastal View Lifestyle Village Wins National Property Industry Award

Qestral's commitment to creating exceptional retirement living communities has once again been recognised on the national stage, with Coastal View Lifestyle Village in Nelson named the winner of the Hawkins Multi Unit Residential Property Award at the 2026 Property Council New Zealand Property Industry Awards.

The award celebrates excellence in large-scale residential developments and recognises projects that successfully combine quality homes, outstanding amenities, and thoughtful community planning. Coastal View stood out as one of New Zealand's leading examples of residential development, showcasing how modern retirement living can support independence, wellbeing, and social connection.

A Village Designed Around Connection

At the heart of the award-winning development is the Yacht Club, a purpose-built social and wellbeing hub that serves as the centrepiece of village life. Designed to bring residents together, the Yacht Club offers dining, wellness, and social spaces in a stunning coastal setting overlooking Tasman Bay and Tāhunanui Beach.

The facility was created to encourage connection and enrich everyday life, providing residents with welcoming spaces to meet friends, enjoy activities, dine together, and stay active. The building's thoughtful design blends seamlessly with its surroundings while making the most of Nelson's spectacular coastal outlook.

Raising the Standard for Retirement Living

The judging panel praised Coastal View for successfully balancing high-quality homes with exceptional shared amenities and community-focused design. In particular, judges highlighted the way the Yacht Club enhances village life while allowing residents to enjoy both privacy and connection. They also recognised the quality and variety of homes delivered as part of Stage 4 of the development.

This recognition reflects a growing understanding that successful retirement living extends beyond the home itself. Carefully designed shared spaces, accessible pathways, social opportunities, and a strong sense of community all contribute to creating environments where residents can thrive, remain active, and enjoy an exceptional quality of life.

Continuing a Year of Recognition

This latest national award adds to an exceptional year of industry recognition for Qestral and its villages.

Earlier this year, Qestral was recognised at the 2026 World Ageing Festival, receiving three prestigious awards: Operator of the Year – Residential Aged Care, Operator of the Year – Senior Living, and Innovation of the Year – Health & Vitals Monitoring Solution for Spritely. These awards celebrate excellence in retirement living, aged care, and innovation, recognising Qestral's commitment to enhancing the lives of older New Zealanders.

Qestral also achieved outstanding success at the 2026 NZ Commercial Projects Awards in Auckland, where both Ashbury Heights Care Centre and the Coastal View Yacht Club received Gold Awards in their respective categories. This recognition places our villages at the forefront of quality and innovation in New Zealand and reflects the dedication of our teams and partners in creating vibrant living environments for residents.

Together with the Property Council New Zealand award, these achievements reinforce Qestral's position as a leader in retirement living and aged care. They reflect the vision, dedication, and collaboration of our teams, consultants, contractors, and partners who work tirelessly to create exceptional communities where residents can thrive.

A Proud Achievement for Qestral

Developed by Qestral Corporation, Coastal View Lifestyle Village continues to set a benchmark for premium retirement living in New Zealand. This latest award recognises not only the quality of the village itself, but also the people behind it—from designers and builders to village teams who help bring the community to life every day.

For residents and their families, these awards provide further confidence that Qestral villages are setting new benchmarks for quality, innovation, wellbeing, and community-focused living across New Zealand.

As demand grows for retirement communities that support active, connected, and fulfilling lifestyles, Coastal View stands as an example of what can be achieved when thoughtful design, quality construction, and a strong sense of community come together.
