Recognition means even more when it comes from the people who know us best. Qestral and three of our villages have been named finalists in the 2026 Seniors NZ, NZ’s Best Awards, celebrating the experiences of those who live, visit and work in our communities.

Based on independent feedback from residents, families, visitors and team members, these awards highlight retirement villages and aged care facilities making a positive difference in the lives of older New Zealanders.

For Qestral, this recognition reflects our commitment to creating welcoming communities where people can enjoy independence, connection and confidence in everyday life.

Recognising Retirement Living and Aged Care in the South Island

Qestral has been named a finalist in the Multi-Village Excellence Award, recognising the shared standards across our village communities.

We are also proud to celebrate four finalist places across three villages:

- Alpine View Care Centre: Best Small Aged Care, South Island.

- Alpine View Lifestyle Village: Best Large Village, South Island.

- Burlington Lifestyle Village: Best Large Village, South Island.

- Coastal View Lifestyle Village: Best Small Village, South Island.

Together, these finalist places recognise both retirement living and residential aged care, alongside the dedication of the teams who support our residents every day.

Special Recognition for Food at Coastal View

Coastal View Lifestyle Village also received special recognition for Outstanding Enjoyable Food, acknowledging the creativity, care and commitment of its kitchen and hospitality team.

Great food is an important part of village life. It brings neighbours together, creates opportunities for conversation and makes everyday dining something to look forward to. This recognition celebrates the people who help make those shared experiences so enjoyable.

What This Recognition Means for Prospective Residents

Choosing a retirement village is about finding a place where you feel at home. Beautiful homes and thoughtfully designed facilities matter, but so do the experiences that shape each day: a friendly welcome, a meal shared with neighbours, an activity you look forward to and care delivered with kindness.

Feedback from residents, families and visitors offers a valuable perspective for anyone exploring retirement living or aged care. These are the people who experience our communities first-hand, and their reviews help bring everyday village life into focus.

Being recognised across several award categories is also a tribute to our teams. Their care, enthusiasm and attention to detail help create the sense of belonging that makes each village special.

Thank You to Our Village Communities

We are grateful to everyone who shared their experiences and supported Qestral and our villages in the 2026 Seniors NZ NZ’s Best Awards.

Your feedback helped achieve this recognition and continues to inspire our work: creating exceptional places to live, with opportunities for friendship, independence and enjoyment at every stage of retirement.
